4 Tips For Healthier Living

I have recently taken some time to re-think my life. And in that time I have come to the realization that my lifestyle is extremely unhealthy. Like many geeks, I have lived on a diet of soda, Bawlz, chips, and microwaveable Japanese dishes. I would never leave my chair, I would constantly pass up opportunities to spend time with my family and attend events with my friends. After this realization I changed my life for the better, if you wish to join me on this journey than follow the 7 tips below.
1) Watch what you eat, and eat a little less – This tip is the most obligatory, but is also the most helpful. You are what you eat, and if you eat junk than you feel like junk. Instead of grabbing a bag of chips or chugging a bottle of Bawlz choose something that will benefit you in the long run. Perhaps grab a can of V8 juice, or better yet water! But remember, even eating too much healthy food can be bad for you. So eat slow, and when the feeling of hunger goes away stop eating.
2) Take a break, explore the world – When spending hours on the computer take a 15min break every hour. Get up and walk around your house, sit on the porch, go walk around your back yard. As long as you keep yourself moving. This gives your muscles a chance to stretch and reduces the strain on your eyes.
3) Replace your chair – Instead of using a traditional office chair use an exercise ball. Keep in mind that it will take about 1 day to get used to balancing. But using an exercise ball as your chair will give you a slight workout throughout the day and keeps your spine aligned.
4) Take a moment and breath – After a long day of work take a moment to relax and think about your day. Then at the end of the week you will notice that you are not as exhausted as you normally are. The human brain is delicate, and any moment of relaxation helps tremendously at preventing stress and disease.
